about

Written & recorded by Mage. This song is a reflection of frustration with trying to make a name for myself in business by maxing out my credit cards to pay for ads to put me to the top. I also wrote it on my birthday hoping that folks would shell out some birthday money for me, but I guess I'm not that special anymore huh? Dedicated to struggling small business owners and working artists.

lyrics

This ain’t just a bad day
It's my enemy headspace
This ain’t just a bad mind
It’s my crumbling life

Whenever I step ahead
I fall backwards two steps instead
Whenever I try my best
Everything fucks up, and I make a mess

Although I wanna get high
And I know just why
It’s cos life is running me dry
But I got too many debts
And even more regrets
Oh how I just want to alter my mind
And make me feel fine

This ain’t an easy fix
I put myself on the ‘net
The cost of making it big
I spend hundreds on ads

Whenever I get five stars
Another charge falls on my credit cards
Whenever I rank high in searches
I question myself whether I truly deserve it

I’ve had enough of false success
I want make it on my own merit
I’m tired of paying for fame
Wish y’all knew my name
Through organic means instead of advertising
